77, of Mt Prospect passed away peacefully early Sunday morning surrounded by his family. Beloved husband of the late Kathleen Smith, loving father of the late Georgie, Jim (Meredith) Smith, Kate (Steve) Demeas; Cherished grandfather of Alexandra, Jacob, and Blake Smith, Grace, Nicholas, and Sophia Demeas; fond brother of Mary Rita (the late Michael) Shull, dear son-in-law of Margaret Gaughan and many cousins. George is preceded by his sister, Sister Phyllis Smith, and parents George W. and Anne Smith.
Visitation Friday 4-9 PM at Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 W. Central Rd (at Northwest Highway). Funeral Saturday from the funeral home 9:30 AM to St. Emily’s for 10 AM mass. Interment All Saints Cemetery.
